Installer

Mills and assembles precut and prefabricated wooden parts to form complete units by performing the following duties:


  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and specifications; determine layout and work sequence.
  • Setup and operate a wide variety of woodworking tools and machines.
  • Measures, shapes, adjusts, trims, and sands parts and joints to make parts fit snugly.
  • Applies glue and inserts dowels, nails, or screws to fasten parts together and form complete units. Further, installs hardware and assembles completed units.
  • Possession of basic tools and transportation to job sites.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use and interpret a tape measure using 1/16ths.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid Driver’s License

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and cold.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


Carpenter

Read and understand measurements (Measurement Test Required).
